So we're moving house. Again.

Yay for having to pack the whole house up.
Yay for only having a week to do so.

RIP Steve.

(For those of you playing at home, Steve Irwin, aka Crocodile Hunter, was killed in a freak accident off the coast of Queensland earlier this morning.)

No More Glasses... sorta

Went to the optometrist today. I've got contacts to trial for the next week or so. Yay for not having to wear glasses everywhere.

Taking them in and out is going to take some getting used to though. I'm not entirely sure my eyes are used to the fact that there's something sitting on them :-)

In case you're all wondering why your friends lists just changed, I renamed this journal from chrisj_ to [info]chrisj04, to get rid of that annoying underscore.

That is all.

You scored as Deep Space Nine (Star Trek). You have entered the dark side of the Star Trek universe. The paradise of Earth is far from you and you must survive despite having enemies on all fronts. But you wouldnt have it any other way because you thrive in conflict and will know what needs to be done to take care of those around you. Now if only the Founders would quit trying to take over the galaxy.

We're Moving

... to Valley View. Not a major change of suburb, but irritating none the less :/

On other notes, I had my Health/Fitness checkup for TAFE today. Exactly why they wanted one I don't know, and the doctor was rather confused about some of the questions they asked (They wanted a full hearing checkup. They didn't get one).

Which leaves me with the subject appointment on Monday. Which I now have to get changed. Brilliant.

Oh and I bought myself a paid account. That might inspire me to update more :-)

School Results, Part 2

So we got the first half of our University/TAFE admissions results back today.

I GOT IN!

I got a place in the course I wanted Live Production, Theatre and Events (Technical Production). YAY!

Now I just gotta wait for them to send out the enrolment details

Happy New Year

Happy New Year from the land down under!

Boy has it been a scorcher... South Oz got 2 40 degree days in a row. And as usual, the bloody aircon doesn't work. First time i've ever found myself wanting to go to work... purely for the airconditioning.

*raises glass* here's to 2006!

Merry Christmas

Uni... or not

  • 21st Dec, 2005 at 7:35 PM

Well it looks like I'm not going to University next year. We all got our results this morning, and my TER (Tertiary Entrance Ranking, for those of you playing at home) is about 12 points shy of the cut off for the courses I wanted.

Damn.

That leaves me with TAFE... which won't be too bad. In a way I'd rather get into the TAFE course I've applied for than uni anyway... now I just have to wait until mid-january to find out whether these magic numbers actually got me anywhere.

The Actual Results )

Oh well. It's not the end of the world.  And if TAFE doesn't work out, there's a number of bridging courses i can apply for... or repeat, but i'd really rather not do that.

Christmas meme!

Dear Santa...

Dear Santa,

This year I've been busy!

Last week I committed genocide... Sorry about that, [info]darkcloud45 (-5000 points). Last Tuesday I pushed [info]pixie101 in the mud (-17 points). In September I broke [info]brad's X-Box (-12 points). In January I donated bone marrow to [info]el_stuardo in a life-saving procedure (300 points). In June I ruled Asscrackistan as a cruel and heartless dictator (-700 points).

Overall, I've been naughty (-5429 points). For Christmas I deserve a spanking!

Sincerely,
chrisj_

It's Over!

YAY!

No more school!
No more exams!

And all of a sudden, I have a huge amount of free time available. Other than a few things coming up, such as my TAFE interview tomorrow, I can see a lot of slacking on the horizon. Until I start work again, that is.

God it's nice to be finished though!
